How to make a Wi-Fi QR code

A Wi-Fi QR code stores your network name and password so a guest can scan it and connect instantly — no typing, and no reading a long password out loud. It's perfect to print for a guest room, café, or office.

Create the code

  1. In Scan QR Code Master, open My Codes and create a New Code with the Type set to Wi-Fi.
  2. Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capitals.
  3. Enter the password and pick the security type (usually WPA/WPA2).
  4. Generate the code and print or display it where guests can reach it.

How guests connect

On both iPhone and Android, a guest points their camera at the code and taps the prompt to join the network — the phone fills in the password automatically. No app is required to connect.

Is a Wi-Fi QR code safe to share?
It's as safe as sharing the password itself — anyone who scans the code can join that network, so only display it where you're comfortable letting people connect. For sensitive networks, consider a separate guest network.
Do guests need an app to scan a Wi-Fi QR code?
No. Modern iPhone and Android cameras recognize Wi-Fi QR codes natively and offer to join the network. You only need an app to create the code.
