How to make a QR code for a phone number, text, or email
QR codes can do more than open websites. A phone-number code starts a call, an SMS code drafts a text, and an email code opens a pre-filled message — each in a single scan.
Create the code
- Open Scan QR Code Master, choose Create, and pick the type — phone, SMS, or email.
- Enter the number or address, and for SMS/email add any message text you want pre-filled.
- Generate the code and place it where people will scan it.
- Scan it yourself to check it opens the dialer, messages, or mail as expected.
Good uses for these codes
- A 'call us' code on a flyer or vehicle wrap.
- An SMS code that pre-fills a keyword to enter a promotion.
- An email code on a support poster that opens a message to your team.
FAQ
- Does a phone-number QR code call automatically?
- No — for safety, scanning it opens the dialer with the number filled in, and the person taps to place the call. The same applies to SMS and email codes: they prepare the message, and the person chooses to send it.
