How to make a QR code for your Instagram
A QR code that opens your Instagram profile makes it effortless for people to follow you — they scan, your page opens, they tap Follow. It works anywhere you can show an image: a flyer, a sticker, product packaging, or a screen.
Create the code
- Copy your Instagram profile URL (instagram.com/yourusername).
- Open Scan QR Code Master, choose Create, and pick the website/URL type.
- Paste your profile link and generate the code.
- Save or print it — scan it once yourself to confirm it opens your profile.
Instagram's own profile code
Instagram also has a built-in profile code inside the app (in the menu on your profile). Making your own QR code with a scanner app is handy when you want a plain, printable code you fully control and can place in your own designs.
FAQ
- What's the difference between an Instagram nametag and a QR code?
- Instagram's in-app profile code (formerly the 'nametag') only opens inside the Instagram app. A standard QR code you make from your profile URL opens in any browser or camera, so it reaches people who don't have the app open.
