How to scan a QR code on a Samsung Galaxy phone
Samsung Galaxy phones can scan QR codes in a few ways, all built in. Here are the quickest.
With the Camera app
- Open the Camera app and point it at the QR code.
- If nothing happens, open the camera settings and turn on Scan QR codes.
- Tap the pop-up that appears to open the link or content.
From Quick Settings
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open Quick Settings, tap the Scan QR code button (add it from the edit menu if you don't see it), then aim at the code.
With Bixby Vision or Gallery
You can also open an image containing a code in the Gallery and let Bixby Vision detect it — handy for a code in a screenshot rather than one in front of you.
FAQ
- Why won't my Samsung camera scan QR codes?
- The feature is usually there but sometimes switched off. Open the Camera app's settings and enable Scan QR codes, then try again in good light with the whole code in frame.
